Chiropractic
Adjustment (Spinal Manipulation)
Chiropractic care can help restore our bodies to optimal
function. It seeks to re-establish normal spinal mobility.
It is a natural approach to health and wellness. Drugs and
surgery are not used. An adjustment consists of a high velocity,
short lever arm thrust applied to a vertebra to restore
normal position and motion. By reducing the subluxation,
there is an increased range of motion, reduced nerve irritability
and improved function. It may also be accompanied by an
audible release of gas. This sound is caused by the release
of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, which releases
joint pressure.
Techniques
Dr. McIntosh is trained in many techniques including Diversified,
Gonsted, Thompson, SOT, Activator, with specialization in

Athletic Performance Enhancement
The role of chiropractic in sports is three-fold:
it speeds recovery from injury, it enhances performance, and
it helps prevent future problems.
Nutritional Therapy, Cholesterol Screening and Hormone Testing
We have the ability to analyze and understand your state of nutritional
fitness. Using test results, we can specify
areas in which you are deficient and/or excessive. Through consultation,
we can better understand how you are
currently attempting to meet your bodies needs through nutrition, and make
sound recommendations based upon how your
body is actually processing it's fuel.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the treatment of meridians. These meridians are invisible energy pathways in your body that conduct life-force energy or Qi (pronounced "chee") in and around all the parts of your body. Blockage or interference in these meridian pathways can result in energetic imbalances that may contribute to negative health conditions.
Massage
Massage promotes wellness by improving circulation of
blood, facilitating the removal of metabolic toxins, and
supporting immune system functions and promotes healthy
skin. Relaxing soft muscle tissue supports skeletal function
and alignment and improve joint mobility. Regular massage
can be helpful in eliminating tension headaches, relieving
tired and sore muscles, and reducing stress and anxiety.
Massage therapy creates a sense of well being and balance
that the body needs to renew itself.
